Questions you might have
How are long cues split?
With the same rules our video-to-subtitles tool uses: break at punctuation first, at most two lines (about 42 characters each), shown for about 6 seconds at most, with time shared out by length.
What does "fix overlaps" do?
If a cue is still on screen when the next one starts, it ends exactly when the next begins, so two cues never stack.
Are italic cues split too?
Cues with formatting tags are left as they are so the tags don't break. Tick "Strip formatting tags" first if you want them split.
Does the punctuation fix touch English?
No. It only changes lines containing Chinese, and leaves numbers like 1,000 alone.
