Audio to text,transcripts from recordings

Meetings, interviews, podcasts and lectures, transcribed. Every job gives you a TXT transcript and SRT subtitles.

Video already on YouTube? Download it from YouTube Studio first
  1. On a computer, open YouTube Studio (studio.youtube.com)
  2. Click Content, then hover over the video you want subtitles for
  3. Click ⋮ (Options) → Download to get the MP4
  4. Drop the downloaded file into the box above

This works for videos uploaded to your own channel; the Studio mobile app can't download. We never fetch anything from YouTube.

How it works

Drop in a video or audio file. The audio is extracted in your browser; the video itself is never uploaded.

2

We transcribe

Up to 10 minutes free with no sign-in; longer files just need an email.

3

Download

Get SRT subtitles and a TXT transcript, ready for YouTube, your editor or anywhere else.

FAQ

Questions you might have

Can I get a plain transcript too?

Yes. Every job produces both SRT subtitles and a TXT transcript — handy for notes, articles or meeting minutes.

Which formats and lengths work?

MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM, MP3, M4A, WAV and other common audio/video formats. Up to 20 minutes free, up to 90 minutes paid.

Is my video uploaded to your servers?

No. Your browser extracts the audio track on your computer and uploads only that small audio file. The audio is deleted as soon as it's processed; subtitle files are kept for 7 days, then deleted. We never train models on your files.

Which languages are supported?

English and Chinese (Simplified output) work best. Choose "Detect automatically" for other languages.

How accurate are the subtitles?

Subtitles are generated automatically with no human review. Clear English and Mandarin recordings come out very well, but accuracy isn't guaranteed — check names and terms before publishing.

Is it free? When do I pay?

Videos up to 10 minutes are free with no sign-in — the result shows right on the page. 10–20 minutes is also free with an email sign-in; it's queued and we email you. Longer videos, or priority processing, use credits: 1 per 10 minutes, 6 for a 1-hour video. When we're busy, free jobs wait a little longer.
