YouTube subtitles,ready before you publish
Generate an SRT from your own video file, then upload it in YouTube Studio. Captioned videos are easier to find and keep viewers watching longer.

Questions you might have
How do I add the subtitles to a YouTube video?
Open YouTube Studio → Subtitles → pick the video → Add language → Upload file → With timing → choose the downloaded .srt file → Publish.
Can I paste a YouTube link?
No — we don't fetch content from YouTube or any other platform. For videos on your own channel, open YouTube Studio on a computer → Content → ⋮ next to the video → Download, then drop the file in.
Which formats and lengths work?
MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM, MP3, M4A, WAV and other common audio/video formats. Up to 20 minutes free, up to 90 minutes paid.
Is my video uploaded to your servers?
No. Your browser extracts the audio track on your computer and uploads only that small audio file. The audio is deleted as soon as it's processed; subtitle files are kept for 7 days, then deleted. We never train models on your files.
Which languages are supported?
English and Chinese (Simplified output) work best. Choose "Detect automatically" for other languages.
Is it free? When do I pay?
Videos up to 10 minutes are free with no sign-in — the result shows right on the page. 10–20 minutes is also free with an email sign-in; it's queued and we email you. Longer videos, or priority processing, use credits: 1 per 10 minutes, 6 for a 1-hour video. When we're busy, free jobs wait a little longer.
